Julie Festa was born in Halifax and spent her childhood in Granville Beach, Nova Scotia. After graduating high school she moved to Halifax and earned her RN diploma at the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing.
After nearly thirty years of nursing, Julie continues to practice on a part-time basis while enjoying her other passions – painting and gardening. She is mostly a self-taught artist and enjoys attending art classes with other local artists. She picked up her first brush nearly 9 years ago inspired by Nova Scotia’s natural beauty. Some of her commissioned work has included a variety of themes such as pet portraits, nature and seascapes.
